Bought myself a laptop last November 22.
This will be used for work and play (but mostly for play..hehehe).
Scouring the net, looking for reviews, I have decided that i would buy an ASUS A8JS. I am using it right now typing this entry and all i can say is “super!”.
Unlike the specs listed on the ASUS USA website, my lappy has the following:
WindowsXP Home Edition
2GB RAM (upgraded from 1GB - added NT3500).
120GB Harddisk (Everest says it is FUJITSU MHV2120BH PL)
Bluetooth
Wired optical mouse + Carrying Bag
Lots and lots of icon here. Got to remove some of the programs installed when i get the time.
The processes filled out the whole screen actually.
Haven’t had the time to play with my lappy yet. Too much work.
======Edit 06.26.2008======
My laptop is still alive and kicking.
Used it 24/7 when I was in Taiwan for downloading stuff. I just removed the battery and plugged the power cable. This laptop is tough if I might say so except when it experienced the LCD hinge problem last February 2008. Apparently it is a design issue which all A8 model had.
Fortunately, the ASUS service center in Taipei was top notch. I sent them the laptop Tuesday morning and I was able to retrieve it Thursday morning.
I am still using the Windows XP I installed two weeks after I bought the laptop. Have not reformatted since then.
I am now thinking of doing a reformat and installing a 64-bit Windows Vista. Or maybe not. :p
Christmas gift ko sa sarili ko for this year, at next year, at next year.
:D
